Zeekr has earned recognition from Euro NCAP with its compact luxury SUV, the Zeekr X, winning the prestigious “Best in Class” award for both the Small SUV and Pure Electric Vehicle categories. The award highlights the vehicle’s strong safety performance among models tested in 2024 and underscores its distinction as the top-performing electric vehicle of the year.

Euro NCAP’s evaluation process involves the aggregation of scores from four key safety categories, with each weighted to determine the overall ranking. The Zeekr X excelled across all categories, achieving a 91% score for Adult Occupant Protection, 90% for Child Occupant Protection, 84% for Vulnerable Road User Protection, and 83% for Safety Assist systems. These results place the vehicle at the forefront of safety standards within its class.

Innovative Safety Technology Built for Protection

In May 2024, the Zeekr X secured a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, an achievement driven by its robust design and advanced safety technologies. Built on the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform specifically developed for electric vehicles, the vehicle’s body structure is designed to maximize crash protection. The platform is complemented by a suite of advanced systems that aim to reduce the risk of accidents and safeguard passengers.

Among its key safety features are the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which include Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) to prevent collisions, a Driver Monitoring System (DMS) that alerts the driver in cases of fatigue or distraction, and a Child Presence Detection (CPD) system that warns if children or pets are accidentally left inside the vehicle. Additionally, the Post-Collision Braking System minimizes the risk of secondary collisions by applying the brakes automatically after an initial impact.

The Zeekr X also demonstrated its resilience in extreme conditions such as submersion. If the vehicle loses power underwater, its doors remain functional for up to two minutes, while the electric windows operate long enough for occupants to exit safely.

Since 1996, Euro NCAP has been a key organization in assessing and improving vehicle safety. The “Best in Class” title is awarded annually to the top-performing cars based on their scores in the categories of Adult Occupant, Child Occupant, Pedestrian, and Safety Assist. The evaluations consider vehicles equipped with standard safety features, making it easier for consumers to identify the safest options available.
