Withthegrid secures €3.5M to enhance energy infrastructure control in Europe
Dutch energy tech company Withthegrid has raised €3.5 million to strengthen real-time asset management and grid flexibility, as energy demand and infrastructure complexity grow across Europe.

Funding structure and expansion plans
Utrecht-based Withthegrid has completed a €3.5 million funding round aimed at supporting its international growth and further developing its flagship platform, the Teleport Gateway. The financing includes €2 million from clean energy-focused investor Move Energy, and €1.5 million in debt funding provided jointly by Rabobank and Nationaal Groenfonds.
As energy transition progresses and electricity demand continues to rise, challenges such as grid congestion and secure data integration have become critical. Withthegrid addresses these through the Teleport Gateway, a platform that offers real-time control over more than 450 asset types, including solar inverters, wind turbines, batteries, and EV charging stations. By enabling energy traders, grid operators, and asset owners to manage distributed energy resources more effectively, the company contributes to improved grid resilience and operational efficiency. Companies such as Eneco, Vattenfall, Essent, Vandebron, and Novar are among the existing users of this solution.
Technology integration and operational benefits
The Teleport Gateway offers compatibility with leading monitoring and analytics platforms, including ACCURE and SynaptiQ, and is supported by Withthegrid’s own Power Quality monitoring technology. This plug-and-play integration allows customers to merge real-time data into existing operational systems without disrupting workflows. The result is greater agility and responsiveness in a market environment shaped by fluctuating energy supply and demand.
Investor and company insights
According to Friso Bensdorp, Partner at Move Energy, “Unlocking asset flexibility in a scalable, secure and independent manner is essential to achieving a sustainable energy system.” He emphasized the role of Teleport Gateway in helping energy stakeholders operate more effectively under increasingly congested grid conditions.
In a joint statement, Nationaal Groenfonds noted the importance of supporting tech companies through the challenging scale-up phase: “The ambitious scale-up and the incremental funding requirements that this brings is generally a delicate phase, and we are proud that we can help Withthegrid break through this.”
Withthegrid CEO Paul Mignot shared that the company is pleased to have the support of experienced energy-sector partners. He said: “Their confidence in our vision not only validates our business strategy but also propels us forward to achieve our ambitious goals.”
Focus areas for growth and product development
The new funding will be used to increase the capabilities of the Teleport Gateway, expand the Teleport Asset Library, and scale operations to meet growing demand across Europe. Planned updates include faster deployment, improved compatibility with newer asset types, and full alignment with technical requirements set by European grid operators.
Withthegrid will also prioritize data security and system reliability to support its users in a rapidly digitalizing energy sector. Paul Mignot underlined the company’s strategic direction, stating: “The energy transition relies heavily on real-time asset control and secure, independent data exchange. With this investment, we are further strengthening our offering.”
