The Application and Proposals
Turkish entrepreneur Omer Oztok revealed through his LinkedIn profile that he had officially applied to become the next CEO of
OpenAI. In his application, he laid out a series of unconventional proposals that immediately drew attention. He suggested restructuring the company from the ground up, stating that his first act would be to replace the entire executive team with ChatGPT-based agents, keeping only himself in place.
Beyond this, Oztok explained that he wanted to lure the entire AI division from Meta by offering them lifetime ChatGPT Plus memberships. He also floated the idea of acquiring
Google for its brand name alone and training the next major model, GPT-6, exclusively on his personal
Twitter feed. These ideas, blending ambition with humor, stood out as some of the boldest claims made in a CEO application in recent memory.
OpenAI’s Response
Oztok later shared a screenshot of the response he received, which appeared to be an official email signed by the
OpenAI Global Leadership Team. According to the message, while his passion was acknowledged, parts of his proposal were regarded with concern. The leadership team noted that the plan to replace executives with AI agents was interpreted as an apocalyptic scenario.
Legal teams were said to have flagged his plans to recruit Meta’s staff, acquire
Google solely for its name, and train GPT-6 on social media posts as disruptive and unrealistic. Additionally, his reported demand for 50% ownership of the company was described as unacceptable. As a result, OpenAI stated it would continue with a more conventional candidate for the leadership role.
Viral Reactions on Social Media
The entrepreneur’s post quickly spread beyond LinkedIn, reaching Reddit and
Twitter, where it gained significant traction. Many users found the proposals entertaining, while others focused on the witty and sarcastic tone of the alleged reply from OpenAI.
Although the authenticity of the email has not been independently verified, the episode has become a topic of lighthearted debate online. It has highlighted not only Oztok’s unorthodox vision but also the way large technology firms like OpenAI are engaging with internet culture through humor.
