Trek teams up with Gr4vy to strengthen its Buy Online, Pick Up In Store model, offering real-time inventory insights and multiple payment alternatives.

Inventory accuracy and payment orchestration come together

As retailers adapt to evolving customer preferences, Trek has taken a strategic step to improve its Buy Online, Pick Up In Store (BOPIS) offering. The global bicycle manufacturer has joined forces with Gr4vy, a cloud-native payment orchestration platform, to simplify the customer checkout experience while maintaining up-to-date inventory data across its retail network. The integration is designed to reduce friction in the purchase process by connecting real-time stock visibility with a flexible payment infrastructure.

Consumer behavior increasingly favors online stores that offer in-store pickup, making it critical for retailers to provide accurate product availability and a reliable transaction system. In response, Trek has implemented a system where inventory data from physical stores is made accessible directly on its website through a collaboration involving Locally, a solution offering online-to-offline shopping APIs. This allows shoppers to confirm item availability and complete their purchase in a single digital session before picking it up at a nearby store.

Centralized payment routing and merchant coordination

Gr4vy’s orchestration platform enables Trek to unify payment processes across various sales points, including e-commerce and brick-and-mortar locations. By dynamically routing transactions across multiple Payment Service Providers (PSPs), the system improves authorization success rates and minimizes disruptions during checkout. Transaction data is automatically shared with both Trek and local stores once a purchase is completed, supporting a more cohesive fulfillment workflow.

The partnership has also allowed Trek to introduce expanded payment options, including Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) services, digital wallets, and alternative methods tailored to user preferences. According to Gr4vy CEO John Lunn, “Our goal is to give enterprises full control over their payment processes while eliminating unnecessary complexity.”

Accelerated integration through no-code infrastructure

The implementation of Gr4vy’s no-code platform allows Trek to quickly incorporate new payment methods without extensive technical adjustments. This flexible setup contributes to reduced cart abandonment and improved conversion rates. Steve Novoselac, Vice President of IT and Digital at Trek, described the impact of the integration, noting that “Partnering with Gr4vy has revolutionized our payment approach, allowing us to integrate BNPL and local shop inventory into a single, streamlined checkout experience.”

Regional adaptability and compliance support global growth

Gr4vy’s PCI Level 1-compliant cloud architecture offers scalable infrastructure with dedicated tenant options, helping companies maintain performance standards while addressing data residency requirements. Its API-first design allows for fast deployment of localized currencies, fraud prevention tools, and country-specific compliance features. These capabilities support Trek’s global operations by offering consistent transaction experiences across diverse markets.

Through this collaboration, Trek aims to create a more consistent and dependable shopping journey that bridges the gap between digital and physical commerce. By integrating payment flexibility and inventory visibility under one platform, the company is reinforcing its retail strategy for a more seamless customer experience.
