Indian self-care brand Sammmm, known for developing personal care products for teenagers, has raised INR 10 crore (approximately $1.15 million) in a seed funding round. The investment was led by Fireside Ventures, with contributions from Sauce VC and angel investors including Nihir Parikh, Sachin Parikh, and designers Shantanu and Nikhil Mehra.
Founded in February 2024 by former Nykaa executives Mantosh Roy and Rishi Seth, Sammmm aims to meet the unique personal care needs of teenagers in India. The brand currently offers a limited range of products, including a moisturizer, a cleanser, and a lip tint oil, all designed to cater to the specific skin care requirements of the younger demographic.
The seed funding will be used to diversify the company’s product offerings and enhance its overall market presence. Expanding distribution channels is a key part of this plan, enabling the brand to increase accessibility for its target audience. By leveraging the newly acquired capital, Sammmm intends to address the growing demand for teen-specific products in the Indian market, which it believes has been largely overlooked by mainstream personal care brands.
According to Fireside Ventures, teenagers represent a vital but underserved segment of the country’s personal care sector. The firm sees potential in Sammmm to emerge as a key player within this niche, given its focus on products tailored specifically for adolescents. This strategic positioning could help the brand capture market share as it grows its distribution network and develops new products that align with the preferences of younger consumers.
