As the EV market continues to expand rapidly, the increasing production demands have introduced new issues such as failure modes and process variations. These issues can lead to significant operational, material, and labor losses. According to Schneider Electric, the production of one kilowatt-hour of EV battery energy currently requires 47 kilowatt-hours of energy. Additionally, up to 20% of materials used in EV battery production have been scrapped in recent years.

The partnership between Schneider Electric, AVEVA, and IN-CORE Systemes is set to bring data connectivity from the electrode level to the final cell performance, offering customers a comprehensive data architecture to improve processes. IN-CORE Traceability Solution will work with AVEVA System Platform to link critical parameters from electrode production to final cell and pack performance, providing customers with relevant data at the right time and in the right format.

In a statement, Christel Galbrun, Schneider Electric Mobility Segment President, emphasized the importance of addressing operational challenges in EV battery production. "Operational challenges are the biggest obstacle to success in EV battery production. As demand increases, we must enhance quality and efficiency while reducing variation and scrap. This partnership with IN-CORE will provide new levels of data connectivity to the EV market and help customers build a complete data architecture across all processes," said Galbrun.

Michel Popovic, General Manager of IN-CORE Systemes, also expressed satisfaction with the partnership. "We are pleased to partner with Schneider Electric to address one of the main challenges in the EV market, which is electrode level data connectivity. Together, we can collect traceability data, connect with the rest of the value chain, and contextualize it to deliver immediate value to customers," said Popovic.

The collaboration aims to bring greater data connectivity to the production process by addressing traceability at the electrode level. IN-CORE Traceability Solution will utilize AVEVA System Platform to provide a complete data picture from electrode manufacturing to final cell and pack performance. This integration is expected to significantly enhance the quality and efficiency of EV battery production, helping manufacturers to meet the growing demand for EVs while minimizing material wastage and operational losses.

As the EV market grows, manufacturers face increasing pressure to improve efficiency and reduce waste. The partnership between Schneider Electric, AVEVA, and IN-CORE Systemes is poised to play a crucial role in addressing these challenges by providing advanced data connectivity solutions that enhance traceability and process optimization. By leveraging the combined expertise and technologies of the three companies, the collaboration aims to deliver substantial improvements in the production of EV batteries, ultimately contributing to the sustainable growth of the EV market.

In conclusion, the partnership between Schneider Electric, AVEVA, and IN-CORE Systemes marks a significant step forward in the quest for more efficient and sustainable EV battery production. By addressing the critical issue of data connectivity and traceability, the collaboration is set to deliver tangible benefits to manufacturers, helping them to optimize processes, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency in the face of rising demand for electric vehicles.
