San Antonio, TX - Nippon Express U.S.A., Inc. This vehicle, which produces no CO2 or pollutants during operation, began its service at the San Antonio Sales Office in Texas on May 30.

The introduction of this electric truck aligns with the NX Group’s long-term vision of becoming a dominant logistics provider in the global market. The company has recognized the urgent need to address climate change as a core issue and has been implementing various measures following the guidelines of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD). Beyond reducing CO2 emissions within its operations, the Group aims to promote global environmental sustainability while fostering business growth by developing and offering products and services that support its customers in lowering their CO2 emissions.

The United States has set an ambitious target to ensure that by 2030, electric or zero-emission vehicles account for 50% of all new vehicle sales. California, in particular, is pushing for all medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, including trucks and buses, to be zero-emission by 2045. This regulatory environment underscores the necessity for companies to adopt zero-emission vehicles to maintain and expand their operations in the future.

In response to these evolving standards, NX USA has deployed its first electric truck at its San Antonio Sales Office. The company plans to roll out a total of 14 electric trucks across various locations, including Los Angeles, Chicago, and Raleigh in North Carolina, within this fiscal year. The introduction of these vehicles is projected to cut CO2 emissions from NX USA's operations by approximately 11% in the first year of use.

Additionally, the NX Group aims to support customers who face challenges in reducing their CO2 emissions from fuel combustion and other activities (classified under Scopes 1 and 2). By providing tailored electric truck operation schedules and quantifying potential CO2 reductions, the Group assists its clients in achieving their environmental goals within their logistics operations (Scope 3).

The NX Group remains committed to practicing sustainable management with a long-term outlook. Through its ongoing business activities, the Group seeks to contribute to the well-being of society and the development of sustainable communities by proactively addressing climate change.

NX USA's initiative to incorporate electric trucks into its fleet is a testament to the company’s dedication to sustainability and environmental stewardship. As these vehicles take to the roads, they symbolize a significant stride toward a greener and more sustainable future for the logistics industry.
