Grid OS, a Noida-based electronics design and manufacturing startup, has successfully raised $500,000 in a funding round led by Anupam Mittal, the founder of Shaadi.com, and early-stage investment firm All In Capital. The round also saw participation from notable investors, including Pravin Jadhav, founder of Raise Financial Services, and the JK Group family office.

The funds will be utilized to strengthen the company’s position in its existing product categories and expand into new segments. Established in 2019 by Raghav Gautam and Jasvivek Reehal, Grid OS focuses on providing comprehensive solutions for electronics manufacturing. Its services span from design and research to production and deployment, primarily catering to the business-to-business (B2B) smart electronics sector.

Commenting on the challenges faced by Indian electronics companies, Raghav Gautam explained, “The issue with conventional supply chains, especially those reliant on China, is the lengthy back-and-forth process, which extends product development and manufacturing cycles. This makes it difficult for Indian companies to rapidly scale to mass production.” To address this, Grid OS manufactures critical components at its own facilities while outsourcing specific production tasks to contract manufacturers.

The startup recently secured a Rs 100 crore contract with fintech leader PhonePe for the large-scale production of its Soundbox technology. In addition, the company has expanded into the automotive industry by providing vehicle analytics solutions to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) through its hardware product stack. These advancements highlight Grid OS's ability to cater to diverse industry needs.

Before this funding round, the company raised $200,000 in October 2023 through convertible notes from All In Capital, signaling consistent support from investors.

This latest funding arrives at a time when India’s electronics manufacturing sector is undergoing a significant transformation. Policies such as the Make in India initiative and the adoption of the China Plus One strategy by numerous consumer brands have accelerated the growth of local manufacturing capabilities. Last year, unicorn manufacturing firm Zetwerk committed Rs 1,000 crore to enhancing its electronic manufacturing operations across IT hardware, mobile devices, wearables, and other segments.

With the new investment, Grid OS aims to further its role in the evolving electronics manufacturing ecosystem, leveraging its expertise to contribute to India’s growing prominence as a hub for smart electronics production.
