The Finland-based startup integrates short videos with AI-powered chatbots, offering businesses a new way to engage users and improve conversion rates.

€2.8 Million Investment to Drive Growth

Videobot has raised €2.8 million in a funding round led by Volta Ventures, Expon Capital, and Superhero Capital, bringing its total funding to €5.5 million. This includes €2.2 million secured in 2023 and €500,000 from Business Finland’s Young Innovative Company program. The latest investment will be used to scale the company's video experience (VX) platform, further enhancing its AI-powered interactivity and expanding its market reach.

As video consumption continues to rise, businesses are increasingly looking for ways to make their content more engaging. Videobot aims to help brands meet this demand by providing interactive video solutions that enable personalized customer journeys, increasing engagement and retention.

Transforming Customer Journeys Through Interactive Video

With online users now spending an average of 17 hours per week watching video content, companies need to adapt their digital strategies. Unlike static videos, Videobot enables businesses to integrate interactive elements, including navigation buttons, forms, and calls to action, allowing users to engage with the content rather than simply consuming it.

By incorporating AI-driven analytics, the platform helps businesses track viewer behavior, refine their video funnels, and improve conversion rates. This ability to combine automation and interactivity offers companies a more effective way to guide users through the customer journey.

AI-Powered Video Chatbots and Global Expansion

Founded in 2022 by Anssi Kiviranta and Matias Maenpaa, Videobot leverages AI technology to analyze video performance and suggest optimized follow-up content. The platform's automation features streamline customer engagement, making it an attractive solution for businesses seeking to scale their operations.

Currently, Videobot is used in 20+ countries, with companies across various industries utilizing its no-code platform to create interactive video experiences without requiring technical expertise. The company highlights that the human brain processes visual information in just 13 milliseconds, making video seven times faster than the average blink. By leveraging this cognitive advantage, the startup aims to redefine digital communication and help brands create more effective video-driven strategies.

What Lies Ahead for Videobot?

With a total of €5.5 million in funding, Videobot is set to expand its operations, enhance its AI capabilities, and strengthen its global presence. As brands increasingly integrate interactive video solutions into their marketing strategies, the company is positioning itself as a key player in reshaping customer engagement.

Frank Maene, Managing Partner at Volta Ventures, emphasized how Videobot is driving the next phase of digital marketing, stating, "Where the arrival of marketing automation via platforms, such as Hubspot and Salesforce, enabled more impactful email campaigns and revolutionized how marketers leveraged lead data, VX is the next logical step in how brands connect with their audience. Videobot is making video-driven customer engagement scalable. Gone are the days of static web pages and chatbots, VX empowers businesses to create interactive video experiences that guide customers through journeys and drive engagement."

Co-founder Matias Maenpaa explained the concept behind Videobot, stating, "Videobot goes further than the traditional video, allowing engaging, video-based micro-interactions throughout the user journey on websites and apps as well as facilitating the use of paid ads, physical stores, and beyond. By adding an interactive element to video, we’ve seen that companies using Videobot can experience up to 5x higher conversion rates and increased customer satisfaction."

Meanwhile, Anssi Kiviranta, co-founder at Videobot, highlighted the impact of video in digital communication, noting, "The internet is not cutting out text and images to replace entire websites any time soon. But the time spent consuming video content online often far outweighs the time spent reading text, and this is especially prevalent among today’s most popular social media apps. We’ve already seen marketing methods revolutionized by automation, and VX is undoubtedly the next phase in the history of customer experiences. Seamlessly integrated, interactive video content can boost engagement by guiding users through a personalized journey, drive more impactful ad campaigns, and deliver an enhanced experience."
