Fiat is gearing up to launch its latest global model, the Grande Panda, in Turkey this summer. The new vehicle, designed at the Fiat Centro Stile in Turin, offers electric and hybrid engine options, highlighting the brand’s renewed focus on sustainable mobility and versatility.

Built on Stellantis’ Smart Car platform, the Grande Panda represents a shift in the company’s strategy to create multi-energy vehicles adaptable to various markets. This model will pave the way for a new line of vehicles catering to diverse customer needs while retaining Fiat’s core design philosophy. With a compact structure and a length of 3.99 meters, the Grande Panda promises comfortable travel for up to five passengers, making it a practical option for urban and family use.

Design cues from the iconic 1980s Panda are clearly visible in the model. The car’s doors feature 3D-embossed "PANDA" and "Fiat" branding, while a modern Fiat logo appears on the C-pillar. The vehicle’s sleek body design is accentuated by its availability in seven vibrant color options, aligning with Fiat’s "No Grey" initiative to reflect the dynamic Italian lifestyle through bold colors.

The electric version of the Grande Panda is equipped with a 44 kWh battery and an 83 kW electric motor, delivering a range of up to 320 kilometers, according to the WLTP combined cycle. The vehicle can reach a top speed of 132 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in just 4.2 seconds. Charging is designed for flexibility, with an integrated retractable AC cable supporting up to 7 kW and a rear 11 kW charging port as an alternative. A standard 100 kW DC fast charging port enables the battery to reach 80% capacity in just 27 minutes.

For those preferring hybrid technology, the Grande Panda offers a turbocharged 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder engine, combined with a 48-volt Li-ion battery and a 21 kW electric motor. The hybrid version is paired with an electric dual-clutch transmission (eDCT), which ensures smoother starts, enhanced flexibility at low speeds, and energy recovery during braking.

Sustainability is a key aspect of the Grande Panda’s production. Recycled materials are heavily utilized, with 140 beverage cartons being repurposed per vehicle to produce interior plastic components. This approach emphasizes Fiat’s commitment to eco-friendly vehicle manufacturing. The Grande Panda La Prima trim also features bamboo-based textile on its dashboard, with 33% of the material composed of pure bamboo fibers, setting a new benchmark in sustainable automotive design.

The electric version will be available in two configurations: La Prima and RED, while the hybrid option will come in POP, ICON, and LA PRIMA trims. Standard features in the hybrid POP trim include ADAS, manual climate control, a 10-inch digital instrument panel, and an electric dual-clutch transmission. Additionally, connected services can be accessed through an integrated smartphone station.

With its dual focus on electric and hybrid technology, the Grande Panda is expected to provide an efficient and versatile mobility option for a wide range of consumers in the Turkish market. The upcoming launch underscores Fiat’s broader vision of combining iconic design with technological advancements tailored for modern users.
