Epoch Biodesign, a London-based innovator in sustainable materials, has announced the successful raising of £9 million in funding aimed at establishing its largest nylon 6.6 biorecycling plant. This substantial investment comes from two notable venture capital firms, Extantia and Kompas VC.
The new facility is expected to enhance the company’s capabilities in recycling nylon 6.6, a synthetic polymer widely used in textiles and other industries. With this plant, Epoch Biodesign aims to contribute significantly to reducing plastic waste and promoting a circular economy.
According to company officials, the funding will not only facilitate the construction of the plant but will also support research and development efforts to improve recycling processes. This initiative aligns with the growing demand for sustainable solutions in the textile sector, as industries strive to minimize their environmental impact.
Epoch Biodesign’s CEO expressed enthusiasm about the project, emphasizing the importance of collaboration with investors who share their vision for a sustainable future. The company plans to start operations at the new plant within the next two years, potentially creating numerous jobs and providing a boost to the local economy.
