Elea secures €4M seed funding to expand AI-powered healthcare platform

Fly Ventures and Giant Ventures back early-stage AI healthcare startup

Elea, headquartered in Hamburg, secured support from two notable venture capital firms in its seed round. The funding was led by Fly Ventures, a Berlin-based firm established in 2015 that backs early-stage companies across Europe. The firm focuses on ventures led by technical founders solving complex problems, particularly in sectors such as machine learning, AI, fintech, HR-tech, insurtech, and clean-tech.

The round also saw participation from Giant Ventures, a firm founded in 2019 that invests in purpose-driven technology companies. With operations in London, New York, California, Copenhagen, and Stockholm, Giant Ventures supports startups addressing challenges in climate, health, and inclusive capitalism.

Funds will support platform growth and entry into new medical domains

With the newly secured capital, Elea plans to expand its AI platform into additional clinical areas, including pathology. The company also aims to enhance the system’s ability to automate and optimize routine healthcare operations. This includes strengthening its infrastructure and further developing tools that enable clinicians to manage administrative tasks more efficiently. According to the company, the funding will help improve the platform’s core capabilities and allow it to serve broader healthcare needs.

Elea focuses on automating routine clinical tasks with AI

Founded in 2024 by Dr. Christoph Schroder, Dr. Sebastian Casu, Tobias Lygren, and Stephan Frank, Elea describes itself as an “AI-first operating system” built to reduce administrative burden in clinical environments. The platform integrates with systems used daily by healthcare professionals, leveraging voice recognition and conversational AI. It supports tasks like report generation, diagnosis drafting, and navigating between software interfaces — all of which are typically time-consuming for medical staff.

The startup has already established partnerships with major German hospital groups and is working to make its solution compatible with the digital systems currently in use across healthcare institutions. By focusing on automation and seamless integration, Elea seeks to improve overall efficiency without requiring hospitals to overhaul their existing digital infrastructure.
