Brisk Teaching, an AI-powered platform for K–12 educators, has raised $15 million in a Series A funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with continued support from previous investors Owl Ventures, South Park Commons, and Springbank Collective. The company plans to direct the new investment toward expanding its product features and transforming its browser-based tools into a fully integrated AI teaching assistant.

A growing demand for classroom automation

As education systems grapple with a global shortage of teachers and rising workloads, technology firms are increasingly stepping in to alleviate pressure on educators. Brisk Teaching aims to address these structural issues by reducing the time teachers spend on administrative and repetitive tasks, such as grading assignments, creating lesson plans, and providing student feedback. According to founder Arman Jaffer, “Across every industry, generative AI will automate most digital work in the next decade. In education, this shift will be uniquely positive, freeing teachers to focus on what matters most: building authentic relationships with students.”

Used by over a million teachers worldwide

Originally launched as a Chrome extension, Brisk has rapidly expanded its reach, with more than one million teachers across over 100 countries currently using the platform. The company reports that the tool enables educators to save up to 10 hours per week while still meeting student needs through personalized content and AI-driven suggestions. The platform is now used in over 2,000 schools, reflecting its ability to integrate smoothly into existing educational environments.

Evolving into a full classroom AI agent

With the Series A funding, Brisk will focus on developing its assistant into a more robust AI agent that functions directly within teachers’ browsers. The company’s goal is to deliver more personalized support for both teachers and students by adapting to individual classroom dynamics. Alongside this development, Brisk also plans to improve interoperability with widely used educational tools, aiming to build a unified digital ecosystem that replaces outdated and fragmented software.

Prioritizing privacy and investor trust

In a sector where data privacy is crucial, Brisk Teaching maintains compliance with student data protection standards, including those set by the Student Privacy Pledge and Common Sense Media. This privacy-first approach, combined with growing user adoption, has helped the company gain the confidence of investors. Kent Bennett, Partner at Bessemer Venture Partners, explained their decision to lead the round by stating, “What got us really excited is that teachers and students absolutely love using Brisk—and the team is building on this momentum to create something much bigger: an AI ecosystem that will replace the fragmented, outdated tools that have held back innovation in education.”

With its latest round of funding, Brisk Teaching is positioning itself to play a larger role in shaping the future of classroom technology through scalable, AI-driven solutions designed for today’s educational needs.
