CYCLE, a Berlin-based full-service mobility provider, has expanded its footprint in the European e-bike delivery market by acquiring Ebike4Delivery, a leading Dutch company specializing in electric delivery bicycles. This strategic acquisition aims to solidify CYCLE's position in the growing sector of e-bike delivery solutions across Europe.

The acquisition deal encompasses Ebike4Delivery's team, bicycles, and leasing contracts, while maintaining the brand, services, and production operations in Nijmegen unchanged. The founding team of Ebike4Delivery will continue to provide guidance during the transition period, with Frans Brittijn, a long-time employee, stepping into the roles of Managing Director at Ebike4Delivery and Sales Director at CYCLE.

Luis Orsini-Rosenberg, co-founder and CEO of CYCLE, expressed his admiration for the acquired company, noting, "Ebike4Delivery has always been a company we looked up to and admired. The quality of their hardware, strong market position, customer trust, and cost-efficient operations impressed us." He further emphasized the collaborative potential of the acquisition, stating their excitement to work together and learn from each other, ultimately strengthening their leadership in Europe's commercial last-mile transport solutions.

Ebike4Delivery brings to the table over two decades of experience in the bicycle market, having ventured into the delivery sector in 2014. Known for its high-quality, low-maintenance e-bikes produced in the Netherlands, the company counts major delivery chains like Domino's Pizza, Taco Mundo, Pizza Hut, and New York Pizza among its clients. Currently, Ebike4Delivery supplies more than 7,000 custom e-bikes to over 1,000 customers in 30 countries, ensuring seamless delivery operations through its superior products and services. The e-bikes are designed, developed, and manufactured in the Netherlands and are available for lease or purchase, along with optional service packages.

Since its inception in 2018, CYCLE has rapidly grown its full-service e-bike subscription model to encompass 85 cities across Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, and Austria. The startup caters to a diverse clientele, including well-known delivery companies like Flink and Just Eat Takeaway, as well as individual couriers. Over the years, CYCLE has secured over €20 million in funding from investors such as Scania Growth Capital, EnBW New Ventures, LocalGlobe, and Visionaries Club.

The primary objective of this acquisition is to ensure that both companies initially operate independently to maintain "smooth" operations and high-quality customer service. Over time, the companies plan to integrate their expertise in maintenance, procurement, sales, software, and product development. This strategic alignment aims to boost operational efficiencies, reduce costs, and foster innovation. Customers can look forward to an expanded product range and enhanced support services as a result of this collaboration. Furthermore, the partnership is poised to drive sustainable growth and explore new market opportunities.

Frans Brittijn, the new Managing Director of Ebike4Delivery, sees the acquisition as a pivotal milestone. He remarked, "This acquisition is a significant milestone and opens new doors for growth and innovation. With CYCLE's extensive service network and resources, Ebike4Delivery will be able to expand its product portfolio and enter new markets more quickly and cost-effectively." He emphasized the improved ability to meet the evolving needs of customers and strengthen market positions, looking forward to a successful future with CYCLE and the team.
