The globally renowned coffee brand %Arabica is set to make its debut in Turkey with the opening of its first store on Bagdat Street. Known for perfecting the coffee experience from Japan to the United States, Taiwan to Jordan, and the United Kingdom to Qatar, %Arabica continues to expand its footprint worldwide.

Since opening its first store in Kyoto, Japan in September 2014, %Arabica has been bringing the third wave coffee experience to coffee lovers around the globe. The brand’s entry into the Turkish market is marked by a significant investment, with approximately 2 million dollars allocated for the opening of its first store on Bagdat Street. This venture is in collaboration with Bean Alive, a company that aims to elevate the coffee culture in Turkey.

Evren Bingol, co-founder of Bean Alive, emphasized their goal of opening 10 stores across Turkey by the end of 2025. Bingol stated, "We aim to provide a comprehensive new experience for coffee enthusiasts. Coffee has become an integral part of our culture, evolving and renewing over time to become indispensable in daily life. We believe that %Arabica will bring a fresh perspective to coffee consumption in Turkey. It is a great honor for us to introduce a brand that combines the third wave coffee experience with the operational principles of the second wave coffee culture to the mass market. We will start with our first store on Bagdat Street in Istanbul, and soon expand to the European side and various other locations. Our offerings will not be limited to beverages but will also include a range of food options."

Excellence in Coffee and Equipment

The founder of %Arabica, Kenneth Shoji, is known for his meticulous approach to ensuring sustainable flavor and quality from production to service. Shoji’s journey began with the purchase of a farm to grow coffee beans, followed by selecting the world’s top brands for the necessary equipment to roast and brew the beans. %Arabica also supplies these high-quality coffee-making tools to coffee enthusiasts.

Evren Bingol highlighted the significance of the brand’s logo, which symbolizes a commitment to quality and precision. Bingol explained, "Kenneth Shoji’s beans grown on his farm in Hawaii are blended with beans from Brazil and Ethiopia. Before being distributed to stores worldwide, the beans are collected at the central hub in Japan and then roasted in a temperature-controlled facility in the United Arab Emirates. The beans are degassed for four days before distribution, ensuring %Arabica’s unique and exceptional flavor."

The Role and Importance of Baristas

In addition to its products, Evren Bingol stressed the critical importance of their team, particularly the young baristas who are seen as artists within the company. "At %Arabica, young baristas are positioned as artists. To enable them to see the world, set personal goals, and eventually challenge the world with their ideas, %Arabica organizes bi-annual events that bring together baristas from around the globe in various cities. This offers significant experience for those aspiring to pursue a career in this field," Bingol noted.

%Arabica aims to contribute to the development of coffee culture in Turkey with its new store on Bagdat Street, offering Turkish coffee lovers a unique and refined coffee experience. The company plans to grow its presence in the Turkish market and provide coffee enthusiasts with unparalleled flavors.
